NORMAL DIRECTIONS

(If the River Doesn't Rise)

Highway 61 from North or South:

Take Warren Barrett Drive east at General Mills (right if from south, left if from north)
Proceed all the way to Main Street.
Turn right onto Main Street.
Cross railroad tracks and bridge.
Turn right onto Washington Street.

From US 36/I-72 East or West:

Take exit 157 to Downtown Hannibal.
Head south on Highway 79 (left at light from east, right at light from west).
Take first right onto Grand Avenue.
Stay on Grand Avenue until it “T’s” at Warren Barrett Drive, approximately 1 mile.
Turn left (east) on Warren Barrett Drive.
Proceed all the way to Main Street.
Turn right onto Main Street.
Cross railroad tracks and bridge.
Turn right onto Washington Street.

From Highway 79 South
(Please note road closes at 5:30 am):

At Stowell School turn right on Adams Street.
Turn left on Sycamore Street.
Turn right onto Washington Street. Parking will be on your left.

Head east on Warren Barrett Drive
Turn right onto Johnson Street
Turn right onto State Hwy O / Lindell Ave
Turn left onto Scott's Lane

Continue onto State Hwy T/Fulton Ave
Turn left onto School Street
Turn right onto Union St

From US 36 / I-72 East or West:

How do I pick up my t-shirt and bib?

Monday, June 17, 2024 Thru Monday, July 1, 2024: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm at Hannibal Regional Foundation (175 Shinn Lane, Hannibal, MO).   Please allow a minimum of 2 days after you register before picking up packet.

Tuesday, July 2, 2024: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm at Hannibal Regional Foundation (175 Shinn Lane, Hannibal, MO). 

Wednesday, July 3, 2024: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at Hannibal Regional Foundation (175 Shinn Lane, Hannibal, MO)

When does the race begin?

Saturday, July 6, 2024 – Rolling start begins between 6:00 am and 7:00 am.  Show up anytime during this time and immediately begin your run. 10K and 15K runners are highly encouraged to start at 6:00 am.

Is there a time limit for the race?

Yes there is a time limit.  MoDOT allows us to completely close Highway 79 south of Hannibal for the race, but the highway must be opened back up by 9:00 am.  If a participant has not reached the base of Lover's Leap by 8:30 am, they will be asked to move to the shoulder and complete the race at their own risk or they will be delivered back to the start/finish area of the race.

What do participants receive?

Each participant will receive a Hannibal Cannibal t-shirt, cinch sack, bib, and finisher's medal.

Who receives awards?

Trophies are awarded to the top 3 overall male and female finishers in each distance. Medals are awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category. Each participant receives a finisher's medal, which will be included in their packet.

Are baby strollers allowed on the race route?

To ensure the safety of all participants, we do not allow baby strollers, carriages, scooters or other such items during the 5K run/walk or the 5K/10K/15K run.

Can I bring my dog to the race?

No, we love pets but cannot accommodate them at the event.  The only exception is for required service dogs.

What do the proceeds from the Hannibal Cannibal support?

In 2024, all proceeds from the Cannibal will benefit  Hannibal Regional Foundation’s Heart Hero Campaign.

I’m coming in from out of town, where can I stay?

Amenities

Are there restroom facilities at the race location?

Yes, port-a-potties will be available at the start/finish area of the race.

Will water be available during the race?

Yes, there will be a total of 4 water stations, including the end of race drinks and snacks.  Course stations will be located at the 5K turnaround, 10K turnaround (10K & 15K runners only) and Lover's Leap.  Bottled water will be served at all stations.

Where do runners get their timing device?

We will be using a timing system that utilizes a disposable timing tag that is attached to your bib number. It eliminates the need to return the timing chips at the end of the race, and also eliminates lost timing chip fees.
